Abstract

Syed Umaid Ali Shah is a distinguished poet and writer of Saraiki and Urdu languages. He has rendered valuable services for the promotion of Urdu literature. His entire life seems to be associated with various literary organizations and the field of journalism. Ali Shah has made efforts to bring the creative literature and writers of his region to the global scene of Urdu literature. The literature, he has created reflects the exploited class of society. His poetry has been adorning local and national magazines from time to time. In this article, it is tried to explain the literary trajectories of Syed Umaid Ali Shah regarding his services related to revival of the poetry of the rural areas and made it famous both domestically and internationally.
