Abstract

Khalida Hussain is a unique and distinguished short story writer of this era. She is considered one of the pioneers of modern Urdu Short Stories. Materialism, existentialism, feminism, fear, nostalgia, terror, psychological issues and human inner complexes, concepts of time and death and social issues are main themes of her stories. She has a variety of dimensions in her concept of feminism. It contains child marriage, mismatched marriage, a woman’s love for a man, a man’s infidelity to a woman, a woman’s disrespect, and disinheritance from property, women exploitation, gender discrimination etc. This article tends to explore her opinion regarding mentioned feminist elements in her short stories.
