Abstract

Resistance is derived from the Arabic word 'Zahma' which means obstacle or opposition. As a term Resistance means protest and practical struggle against all kinds of oppression. Literature itself is a resistance act, so such literature which seems to be an expression of Prevention, libertarianism, protest, rebellion, defection, revolution or any such spirit will be called resistance literature. In such a case, it would not be wrong to say that there are as many types of resistance in the world as there are types of oppression. The article under consideration covers the discourse of resistance in literature and society.
